Frameworks Cambridge

History

Frameworks was started in 1988 by John Caldwell to provide a picture framing service to the local community and artists at a reasonable cost on an appointment- only basis. 

In 1992 Frameworks started trading full time with the help of another part-time framer. Business grew steadily and in 2002 the size of the workshop doubled in size when a portion of land next door was acquired. More and more local artists and businesses started using Frameworks (see customers page).

New equipment and machinery enabled Frameworks to continue to grow and provide an ever-increasing range of services.

In August 2011, Frameworks opened a shop over the road from the workshop in Mill Road to provide more space and greater choice for the customer with parking. (see Parking page)

Frameworks always aims to do good-quality work at a reasonable price but you know what they say: 'you can have quality, you can have cheap, and you can have fast but you can only ever have two out of the three'
